No time limits!
Are you worried about not having enough time for the photo session, or stressed that your horse might not cooperate and we’ll run out of time if you book a 30 or 60 minute shoot?
Well, don’t worry! I don’t set specific time limits on my sessions (within reason of course!). This allows time for breaks whenever necessary so that your horse doesn’t get stressed or over-excited.
Sessions generally last from 1 - 2 hours but can be longer depending on various factors, such as:
Number of horses and humans in the portrait session.
Time of day of the session.
How many ideas we come up with for poses and locations within the property.
Creativity and Collaboration
Total flexibility to play around and experiment!
We’ll brainstorm in advance about what images you want but we’ll also collaborate on location as we explore all the possibilities to create unique images.
For example, did I once do portraits on a huge manure pile, covered in fluffy white winter snow that looked like a pretty mountain? Sure did! Had we planned that in advance? Sure didn’t, lol. But it turned out beautifully and you’d never know what we were standing on ;)

How does it work?

Consultation call
I’ll book a discovery call with you where I’ll learn about what’s most important to you so that we can plan the perfect session.

Photo session!
The photo session will be fun and relaxed.
Portraits can be horse only, horse & rider, horse at liberty or under saddle.

Image selection
Within two weeks after your photography session, I’ll email you to set up an “image reveal appointment”.
During this appointment, we’ll go through all the images together and you will choose which ones you’d like to purchase.
Creative Session Fee
A non-refundable fee of $150 is required to book/reserve your session.
The session fee covers:
A pre-session consultation to plan your customized session;
1-2 hours on average for the photo session (more time spent if needed);
Travel up to 60 km of Ottawa. Locations outside of 60 km may incur additional mileage fees of $0.63 per km.
A post-session 60-90 minute Zoom call where you choose your favourite images and review the draft album that I will have designed (if applicable)
Selection gallery of 50+ images to choose from (depends on the duration of the portrait session and how many horses were photographed).
Note: This fee does not include any digital or printed products. Products (digitals, wall art, albums) are purchased separately.
